Lactation Consultations

Blossom Birth provides comprehensive lactation support, offering individual lactation appointments, phone and email support. We provide care and support in the full range of lactation issues, including proper latching and positioning, milk supply, weight gains/losses, pumping, supplementation, alternative feeding methods. We also offer breastpump rentals and basic supplies. Lactation appointments and support are provided by our lactation consultants, with appointments available at a variety of times most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and some Saturdays and Mondays. Rates range from $99 to $179, depending on length of the appointment and whether you meet our lactation consultant at Blossom or in your home.

Rates:

• Regular Consultation at Blossom (90 minutes): $139
• Express/follow up consultation at Blossom (30-60 minutes): $99
• Home consultation (approx 90 minutes): $179 (please note, although we are willing to travel to most locations in the Bay Area, for visits beyond a 12 mile radius of Blossom Birth we will charge extra -not to exceed $20- for gas and travel time)
• One-hour phone consultation: $59 (Quick phone advice, free)
• Special Lactation Package: 2 lactation consultations- one regular (at home or at Blossom) and one express, 3 month unlimited parent baby group pass, and one workshop- Breastfeeding Basics or Returning to Work): $399 (a savings of over $50)

Cindy Howard is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and parent educator with 10 years experience. She teaches breastfeeding classes and leads the breastfeeding support group at Blossom Birth, as well as working with parents of newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers for the Palo Alto Adult School. Her goal is to help parents develop empathy and self-confidence on their parenting journey, which may include a variety of breastfeeding experiences.
